The Synology RX418 Network Attached Storage Expansion Unit is designed to provide easy capacity expansion for Synology 1U RackStation. When the storage capacity on your Synology 1U RackStation reaches its limit, simply connect the RX418 to add four 3.5"/2.5" SATA drives to your system. The RX418 can also be used as a dedicated local backup destination for comprehensive data protection.

The Synology RX418 features a reliable plug-and-play design. Once connected to your Synology RackStation, the drives in the RX418 operate as though they were internal to the NAS. They can be managed directly using the intuitive Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM), without the need for additional software installation.

The RX418 is green and easy to manage. The award-winning Synology DSM provides an intuitive user interface for easy system management. You can configure drive hibernation in DSM to save energy and extend the lifespan of the installed drives.
