Digital Yacht AIT1500 Class B AIS with Internal GPS - DIY NMEA 0183 ZDIGAIT1500
The Digital Yacht AIT1500 Class B AIS Transponder (Model: ZDIGAIT1500) is a compact and feature-rich device that allows for easy installation on fibreglass (GRP) hulled boats. It shares the same latest generation AIS technology as Digital Yacht's AIT2000 and AIT3000 units, ensuring reliable and accurate AIS data transmission.
Product Features:
- Internal GPS antenna for quick and hassle-free installation
- Built-in high-performance 50 channel GPS receiver, also ideal as a backup GPS
- USB interface for simple plug and play connection to a PC or Mac
- High-speed NMEA output (38,400 baud) compatible with industry-standard plotters
- Low-speed NMEA input (4,800 baud) for multiplexing additional NMEA0183 data
- Requires VHF antenna or dedicated AIS antenna (optional accessory) or splitter (SPL2000)
- Remote Silence Switch option for convenient control
- Easy to install black box solution
The AIT1500 is equipped with two outputs, NMEA 0183 and USB, making it compatible with the majority of existing and legacy AIS compatible chart plotters or computer software packages available in the market. Its compact size and rugged ABS plastic enclosure make it ideal for small boats.
The included proAIS2 software*, compatible with Windows and Mac, simplifies the configuration of your vessel's fixed data such as MMSI, call sign, boat name, dimensions, etc. Once configured, the AIT1500 transponder provides AIS data to a PC, Mac, or dedicated chart plotter from leading brands like Garmin, Raymarine, Navico, Standard Horizon, and Furuno.
In addition to transmitting your own vessel's position, the AIT1500, when connected to an existing VHF antenna (via a splitter) or dedicated AIS antenna, receives AIS targets within a range of up to 30NM. For optimum AIS performance on sailing yachts, Digital Yacht recommends using their SPL1500 Splitter, featuring "Zero Loss" technology, which allows the use of the boat's existing VHF antenna at the top of the mast for maximum range.
Please note that the AIS target range, similar to VHF range, depends on various installation factors such as antenna gain, antenna height, and the size of the ground plane. Ranges exceeding 20 miles are possible with perfect installation conditions.
