The Simrad S2009 Fish Finder is equipped with a Broadband Sounder™ module and CHIRP technology, allowing you to see underwater details with higher resolution, improved target separation, and greater image clarity. The CHIRP technology is available on both special-purpose CHIRP transducers and traditional single-frequency transducers, making it a cost-effective upgrade for vessels with compatible transducers.

With vertical heave compensation, the S2009 eliminates the vertical effects of wave action from sonar depth measurements, ensuring accurate and consistent bottom tracking even in rough conditions. To utilize this feature, a compatible NMEA 2000®-connected satellite compass such as the Simrad HS60 or HS70 is required to provide real-time heave data.

The S2009 features a compact 9-inch LCD in portrait orientation, maximizing screen size in limited mounting space. The portrait orientation is well-suited for fishing applications, displaying the water column with a high level of vertical detail.

Adjusting the on-screen image is made easy with the S2009's range of features. The White Line feature enhances bottom visibility by clearly separating the water column from the bottom with a high-contrast white line. The White Marker feature allows you to highlight specific sonar echoes corresponding to fish or other targets of interest. The Colour Erase feature eliminates unwanted noise or unimportant features from the display by blending any selected color into the background.

The S2009 is operated through an integrated keypad and rotary dial, providing intuitive control of on-screen menu options. The large buttons, with reliable, long-life operation and clear tactile feedback, are suitable for use in rough seas, while traveling at speed, and with wet or gloved hands.

The S2009 offers flexible mounting options. It can be flush-mounted, making it ideal for installation aboard new vessels. Alternatively, the included gimbal bracket is well-suited for outside installations or pilothouse refits. With watertight rear connectors, the S2009 is IPX7 water-resistant from all sides, in either flush- or bracket-mount installation.
